HOW TO ANALYSE A SHORT STORY
1.  Title of story and collection, author's name, year of publication.
2.  Crucial information about the author 
3.  Essential Plot
4.  Main characters’ description
5.  Climax/Turning Point
6.  Setting (where, when)
7.  Narrator/point of view
8.  Themes/main ideas, main message
9. Narrative structure (background information, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution: does the story unfold in chronological order? Are there any flashbacks /flashforwards?...) and language (word choice, imagery, tone…)
10.  Impact  on the reader (would you recommend it? Why/why not?) and parallels with other texts.
